WINTER PHOTO TOURS IN YELLOWSTONE AND THE GRAND TETONS

Here’s your chance to join Steve for one, two, three, or four spectacular days of winter photography on your own customized trip into Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.  Itineraries are designed specifically for each individual or group, and can include snow coach tours into Yellowstone (until March 15 when the park closes); snowmobile tours into the wild Gros Ventre Wilderness of the Bridger Teton National Forest; and 4WD tours of Grand Teton National Park.

The mountain scenery in the region, of course, is unmatched, and includes not only the spectacular Tetons but also the remarkable thermal activity of Yellowstone.  During the winter, much of the wildlife migrates southeastward into the Gros Ventre, where snowmobiles take you within close photo range of moose, elk, bald eagles, and quite often, wolves.  If you choose one or two days of 4WD touring, you may be able to film bighorn sheep, elk, bison, and frequently moose.

Steve works closely with on each of these tours with Jackson-based Scenic Safaris, one of the best-known outfitters in the region.  For snowmobile tours, all necessary boots, suits, and helmets are provided, and both half and full day excursions are offered – it doesn’t matter if you’ve never driven or ridden on a snowmobile before, because full instruction is provided and all rides are on well-prepared trails or roads (in Yellowstone).  Snow coach tours are full day trips, starting and finishing at your motel in Jackson

For a more rustic experience, Steve also works with the Triangle C Ranch near Dubois, about 50 miles east of Jackson on the edge of the Wind River Range.  The ranch is nationally-known for its summer and fall activities, including horseback trail rides and pack trips, but is equally as active in winter with both snowmobile and snow coach tours into the Grand Teton and Yellowstone areas.  Instead of a motel, however, you’ll stay in rustic cabins at the Triangle C, and sit down to unforgettable meals.  Photography instruction can be scheduled for one, two, or three days.

No matter which tour you choose or how long you want to stay in the area, Steve will be with you to help you get the most from your equipment.  Emphasis will be on location, lighting, composition, and wildlife etiquette.  Trips are primarily designed for beginning and intermediate photographers, and can be completely tailored to your specific requests.  Prices vary according to your itinerary.
